Kaizer Chiefs captain, Itumeleng Khune was rewarded for his efforts during 2012/2013 season when he walked away with four awards during, PSL Awards hosted at Gold Reef City on Sunday, 26 May 2013.
"Spider" as Khune was inspirational in a season Amakhosi reclaimed the double.
The Amakhosi conceded only one goal during during the Nedbank Cup. There were no questions when he walked away with the Footballer of the Season Award and R200, 000 cheque.
He was back in the stage after his fellow professionals voted him as the Player's Player of the Year this season. Khune pipped his Club teammate, Bernard Parker who also had an equally impressive season scoring 14 goals in all competitions.
Khune then walked away with the Goalkeeper of the Year Award beating his counterpart at Orlando Pirates, Senzo Meyiwa and Rowan Williams who won the Young Player of the Year Award.
The Goalkeeper of the Year Award was accompanied by R50 000 in prize money.
Captain Itumeleng Khune, was also called to collect the Nedbank trophy and the prize money of R7 million.
There was also recognition for Head Coach Stuart Baxter who transformed the Glamour Boys to a championship material.
Khune was back on stage to collect the biggest individual award of the season beating Platinum Stars, Robert Ng'ambi and Bafana Bafana teammate, Thuso Phala to win the Footballer of the Year award.
Minister, Fikile Mbalula presented the award the Ventersdorp born goalkeeper in front of his childhood idol and Chiefs legend, Brain Baloyi.
The entire Amakhosi team was in attendance and they were presented with the Absa Premiership trophy and the R10 million cheque.
It was a evening not to forget for the Glamour Boys who coined the theme, "Reclaim the Glory".
Khune thanked his parents, Kaizer Chiefs family, his goalkeeper coach and Kaizer Motaung the Club Chairman - the awards were a showcase for what has been a season of Glory for Amakhosi!
