All of Amakhosi’s Development Academy teams prevailed in their respective competitions this past weekend.
On Saturday, in the SAFA Gauteng Development League (GDL), Kaizer Chiefs U14s defeated Joburg City U14s, 3-0, while the U15s hammered Kathorus Hyper Academy U15s y 6-1. The U19s completed a clean sweep by beating Jomo Cosmos U19s by one goal to nil.
This coming Saturday, 22 February, the teams compete in the semifinals of the GDL Top 8 knockout competition at Marks Park.
The U14s face Sevens Academy on Field B at 9:00am, followed by the U15s against Tuks at 10:30am, also on Field B. The U19s will play against the School of Excellence on Field A, kicking off at 1:30pm.
On Sunday, the Amakhosi reserves trounced Lamontville Golden Arrows 4-0, with goals from Nkosana Mbuthu, Kabelo Nkgwesa and a Naledi Hlongwane brace keeping them in second position on the DSTV Diski Challenge (DDC) log table.
They trail leaders, Stellenbosch by two points, although they have a game in hand that could see them return to the top should they win it.
Their next outing is away to Sekhukhune United on Sunday, 23 February at the Isak Steyl stadium in Vanderbijlpark, kicking off at noon.
