Kaizer Chiefs’ reserve team will face Lamontville Golden Arrows reserves this weekend in a home fixture of the DStv Diski Challenge at Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday morning.

The young Amakhosi beat Moroka Swallows reserves 4-1 in their previous fixture, hosted at Tsakane Stadium last Sunday afternoon.

Coach Vela Khumalo’s team have been scoring freely, registering nine goals against their opponents and conceding only one in their last two fixtures. Chiefs have scored the most goals in the league so far this season, followed by Orlando Pirates reserves, who have managed to put 44 goals, past their opponents.

On the DDC log Chiefs reserves are 4th , with 40 points after 21 matches. Arrows reserves have also played 21 games and are 10th, on 28 points.

This weekend’s standalone DDC match between Amakhosi reserves and Abafana Bes’thende reserves will kick off at 10:00 on Saturday morning at Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto.

Meanwhile, the Gauteng Development League (GDL) is back for the new season and Kaizer Chiefs’ four age divisions will also be in action this Saturday at the Kaizer Chiefs Village.

Amakhosi juniors teams, which did well last season in the SAFA-run GDL, will want to continue with their good form this season.

This weekend, the four Amakhosi development teams will battle Randburg AFC’s teams from Saturday morning until afternoon.

The GDL games will kick off at 9:00 with the under-13s; that game will be followed by the under-15 teams at 10:30, with the under-17s taking the field at 12:00 and the under-19s will wrap up the day at 14:00.

The GDL games will be on SuperSport’s school digital platforms.
